Nate Berkus has spent over two decades in the interior industry – establishing himself as an internationally-known designer and TV star. Now, for his latest venture, he has tackled the eternal question of storage – and how to maximize every inch of space.

As one of the most used appliances – in the most functional of rooms – our refrigerators are a natural starting point when making storage more seamless. But, with Nate's 'game changer' trick, organizing a refrigerator is simple.

'If you aren't using 2-tier bins in your fridge, are you even a Virgo?! Seriously though, my Nate Home 2-Tier Sliding Pull-Out Drawer Organizer comes in three sizes and is a game changer for organizing your food and no wasted space,' he says.

The designer confesses that he uses the 2-tier organizer in 'several places' (including his coffee bar) around his New York home. However, this versatile solution is just as impactful in the kitchen as it is in the bath or bedroom.

Nate's transparent organizer comes with a handy slide-out functionality that offers instant accessibility. Its built-in handles also allow you to grab any products with ease.

'It’s great because it keeps all the kids' stuff and the fresh fruit super organized,' Nate explains in the Instagram footage. 'I don’t love readjusting the height of all these shelves because sometimes you want something tall, like a water filter, but you don’t want to waste all the space above. This 2-tiered sliding drawer is the perfect solution.' Is this our new favorite kitchen storage must-have? Designed by Nate and used in his home, we'd say it's hard to rival.

However, you should pick up the 2-tier sliding drawer from Amazon while you can. It's so popular it tends to quickly sell out at all retailers – Amazon, Target, Walmart, and mDesign. If you've missed the trick, here are a few alternatives we love too.

While the 2-tier drawer is sold out, the next best thing is this two-pack of slim plastic bins. They also work well in a refrigerator or pantry.

For more awkward storage of bread and bottles, these two wide plastic bins suit almost any space.

This turn-table organizer is ideal for just about anything you need to hand – from herbs and spices to makeup and skincare.

Following the launch of this collection, Nate sat down with H&G to discuss the importance of knowing exactly what is in each drawer – and that includes drawers inside the refrigerator.

'I have known – not thought but known – for a really long time the importance of knowing what is in each drawer,' Nate shared. 'Being able to reach for something, whether it's wrapping paper or ribbon or a pot or pan – knowing where to find that is an aspect of housekeeping that allows me to fill the space in a way that is meaningful to me.'

Since Nate’s first appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show in 2002, he has become one of the world’s most recognizable interior designers. He has authored two New York Times bestselling books and stars alongside his husband, Jeremiah Brent, in HGTV's Nate & Jeremiah Home Project.

And, alongside its evident uses in our refrigerator, manufacturers mDesign add that this drawer is perfect for organizing a pantry. The 2-tier design provides double the storage space, while its transparent composition means we can keep track of exactly when we need to stock up. 'It's easier than ever to find what you're looking for while keeping contents visible, organized, and protected.' Now is the time we make the investment.
